Happy to see our work recognized in American Photography 36. This wonderful portrait by MICHAEL AVEDON of artist, Buddhist & my friend Aretha M. Busby came together with work from Emma Varvaloucas Gabriel Lefferts and Carla Frank and ran in one of my all time favorite issues of Tricycle Magazine: The Buddhist Review . Also a note, Michael is the grandson of Richard Avedon, who I had the privilege of working for in college and whose works, such as his collaboration with James Baldwin, Nothing Personal left a deep impression on me. Michael's work first demanded my attention when he photographed survivors of another epidemic that plaques this country, gun violence. While I probably would choose Med school if I could do it over, I am grateful for my education and my work. Images do inform.
